In this class, Chuck will share his love of sailing and navigation by teaching you how to find out where you are on the ocean using the sun, a sextant, and some tables. Materials will be provided. For math skills, all you need to know is basic addition and subtraction — no higher-level math required.

Chuck Paine began designing yachts professionally in 1971 and started his own company, C. W. Paine Yacht Design, in 1974. The company, which operated until 2008 launching well over 1000 yachts, became one of the world's most prestigious design names.

*There will also be two meet-ups at Drift-Inn Beach on a sunny morning to practice with the sextant.
